Sant’Abbondio’s cloister

Insubria University

The first conference titled “Medicinal and Crop Protection Chemistry: Breaking Barriers, Building Synergies" will take place at the beautiful location the Chiostro di Sant'Abbondio in Como (Italy).

This event aims to bridge medicinal chemistry and crop protection chemistry, with a particular focus on emphasizing the need for new perspectives of research in agrodrug discovery, an area often less considered than its medicinal chemistry counterpart. With contributions from leaders in academia and industry, the program will cover emerging research strategies, innovative approaches to bioactive compound discovery, and key challenges shaping the future of both pharmaceutical and agricultural sciences.

The conference is organized within the framework of the STAR project (funded by the Italian Applied Sciences Fund FISA2022-MUR in association with Bayer Crop Science), which aims to improve the sustainability of agrodrugs in Italian agriculture.
